The Forest crossplay
No The Forest doesn't have crossplay: each platform family has its own players.
PC (Steam) and PlayStation players can't play together, and saves don't transfer. On PlayStation the game is a PS4 release that also runs on PS5, so PS4 and PS5 owners can play together.
Co-op takes up to eight players, as long as everyone is on the same platform. The sequel, Sons of the Forest, is on PC only.
Cross-progression: No Progress stays on the platform you played on.
