Q: Does DayZ have cross-progression?

No. Characters don't carry over between platforms.

Partly DayZ has crossplay, but players are split into 2 separate groups that can't meet: PC, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One; PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

Since Update 1.29 (April 8, 2026), Xbox players and PC players using the Xbox app version share servers. Owning DayZ on Xbox also gets you the Windows version through Xbox Play Anywhere.

The Steam version is separate: it runs its own build and servers, so Steam players can't join Xbox or Xbox app servers. PlayStation is separate too, though PS4 and PS5 players share servers, as do Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players.

On PC, crossplay covers Steam and Xbox app.
